UNITED KINGDOM: Michael Jackson attends launch of book by Uri Geller and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Please read the Disclaimer

Despite his broken foot Michael Jackson has made his
first London appearance when he attended the book launch of
"Confessions of a Rabbi and a Psychic" by Rabbi Shmuley
Boteach and Uri Geller.

Adoring fans and photographers gathered in London to
catch a glimpse of popstar Michael Jackson when he attended
the book launch of "Confessions of a Rabbi and a Psychic" by
his friends Rabbi Shmuley Boteach and psychic Uri Geller.

Jackson arrived at the Royal Institute of British
Architects on Monday evening (March 5) for the book launch,
hobbling on crutches after fracturing a bone in his foot at
his home in California. He will use the venerable platform of
Oxford University's debating society to promote his children's
charity on Tuesday (March 6).

The 500 people who have tickets to the Oxford Union inner
debating chamber will catch a glimpse of a face that has been
the focus for as much debate as his music. The tickets are
becoming a prized possession after a deluge of requests to
attend.

Jackson has two children of his own, Paris and Prince, by
former wife and dermatology nurse Deborah Rowe.

But his choice of good cause raised some eyebrows -- in
1993 a 12-year-old boy accused Jackson of sexually molesting
him. The singer denied any wrongdoing but settled out of court
for an undisclosed sum that some estimates put in the millions
of dollars.

Jackson's charity was founded last year by the 42-year-old
with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach under the umbrella organization of
the L'Chaim society, based in New York.

"Heal the Kids" aims to "encourage adults to reprioritise
children and to foster programs that help children gain the
love, attention and quality time they need to prosper and
flourish".

On the foundation's web site, "Heal the Kids" says that it
"will work in concert with organizations that have programs
underway".

On Wednesday, Jackson will be best man at Uri Geller's
wedding renewals.
