Michael Jackson's doctors said on Thursday (December 7) the singer might have been suffering from cardiac arrhythmia when he fainted on Wednesday while rehearsing for a New York concert.

In a written statement, doctors said he has been in the intensive care unit of Manhattan's Beth Israel North Hospital and will remain there for several days. Providing few details, the doctors said Jackson was suffering from gastroenteritis, dehyration, and kidney and liver problems.

Jackson's wife, Elvis Presley's daughter Lisa Marie Presley-Jackson, visited Jackson for a second time on Friday.

On Thursday, she spent much of the day at the hospital and left without talking to the crowd of journalists who have camped outside the hospital since Jackson arrived Wednesday evening.

Jackson's mother, Catherine spent the entire day at the hospital as well and Jackson sisters Rebbie and Janet, also visited.

Large pictures of Shirley Temple as a child star were brought to the hospital to decorate Michael Jackson's room. Pictures of Walt Disney cartoon characters were also said to have been brought to the sick room.

Fans continued to gather outside the Beth Israel, many carrying cards and banners, to wish Jackson a speedy recovery. Close
