StoryUganda's President, General Idi Amin, lunched with Britain's Queen Elizabeth in London today before meeting Foreign Secretary Sir Alec Douglas Home. The President, who came to power in a coup in January this year, asked Sir Alec--who is also the Commonwealth Secretary--for economic and military training aid. The strained relations between Uganda and neighbouring Tanzania were also discussed. Sir Alec, meanwhile, said he would consider General Amin's requests and agreed that there should be further contact between Britain and Uganda. General Amin, on a week-long private visit is due to have talks with other British ministers and officials before leaving for home over the weekend.
