QUEEN MOTHER'S FUNERAL:

More than a million people gathered in the streets today to take part in the funeral of the Queen Mother. As the sound of Westminster Abbey's tenor bell rang out 101 times - one for each of her years - the coffin was brought out of Westminster Hall, where so many had filed past to pay their last respects.

Marching behind the gun carriage carrying her body, were senior members of the Royal family, including a visibly moved Prince Charles. But as well as sorrow there was thanksgiving for the Queen Mother's life. In his address the Archbishop of Canterbury spoke of her duty, warmth and affection, sentiments echoed by those who'd thronged the streets.
