In this festival, people from other communities do not participate. Virabhadra Swami is the god of Kulla community. When we break coconuts on our heads, no harm would happen to us because of the blessing of God. This ritual has been practiced by the community for a long time, said Velu Laxmanan, a devotee.
They said this is a way of worshiping the lord for the wellbeing of their families and their village.
The lord should protect us and our lands from everything. We are performing this ritual for that purpose only, said Muniraj, a devotee.
Veerabhadra Swamy temple is the most prominent temple in the district of Krishnagiri and the God Veerabhadra is considered as an incarnation of Hindu God Shiva. Close
